In 1722 a local man, James Marshall, left a remarkable gift in his will. He created a charity that would support young people, living in the Parish of Wheathampstead and Harpenden, to achieve their dreams.
James Marshall's legacy lives on to this day.
If you are aged under 25 and live in Harpenden or Wheathampstead you can apply to the foundation for funding to support you at school, college, university, through an apprenticeship or with your career.
The Harpenden Trust helps families and individuals living in the AL5 postal district by
making grants towards household bills, providing vouchers for food and helping with furniture and white goods helping seniors to pay their winter fuel bills supporting families to meet the cost of essential school trips.
