Harpenden Gardening Society
Harpenden Horticultural Society was founded in 1946.  In 2013 it was renamed the HARPENDEN GARDENING SOCIETY to better reflect the needs and interests of the 21st century.  The Society has approaching 200 active and enthusiastic members.  It provides a regular opportunity for gardeners in Harpenden and the surrounding villages to meet and learn from each other and from our programmes of specialist speakers and interesting outings. These help to meet our objectives of promoting all aspects of gardening.  All are welcome and membership is not confined to Harpenden Residents.  If you are interested in gardening, food or the environment and want to learn more you are most welcome to join any of our meetings as a visitor.

East Harpenden Gardening Club
Since its formation 60 years ago East Harpenden Gardening Club has managed six allotment sites in the Batford area of Harpenden in close co-operation with Harpenden Town Council. The main purpose of the club was to encourage an interest in growing vegetables and healthy eating, as well as promoting exercise and providing an opportunity to meet other people with similar interests. This continues today and we have a thriving membership of people of all ages and walks of life.
